This year at Source besides managing other people’s shows and performances I will be offering a very distinct performance piece for the Sourcerers.  I run a business on Maui called Fabulous Faces where I offer exotic face and body painting for all sorts of events.  Recently, I went to the World Body Painting Festival, ( http://www.bodypainting-festival.com ) in Austria where they did live body painted dance performances based on certain themes and stories that were organically based on the body painting of the live models performing on the stage.

At Source I envision offering a 6 hour body painting and theater workshop on Saturday from 12pm to 6pm with a class limit of no more than 20 people.  An even number of models and painters would be ideal but not completely necessary.  We will create in those 6 hours no more than 10 body painted performers who will perform that Saturday night after dinner on the mainstage an already partially scripted loose dance and performance art show called Body Alive Maui.  There will be many areas allotted for improvisation and as well as plot guidelines I will create beforehand for the models/performers to follow.  We will discover during the day workshop what the characters will look like in body paint and how to paint emotion and create theater and visual art simultaneously.

The show will be based on the theme of Source this year and will express Maui’s unique contribution to the world of arts.  Please contact me if you are interested-  (808) 268-8651 or quenchthewench@gmail.com

Thanks for providing this opportunity for artists in Maui. I’m stoked to participate and paint someone. I can’t wait to see the incredible end result performance where each living canvas character comes alive in a Great Expression at Source!
